The Electron Microscopy Center of South China University of Technology is an important research institution dedicated to promoting scientific research and technological innovation in the field of electron microscopy. The Electron Microscopy Center will commence construction in 2022 and is located at the Guangzhou International Campus. The establishment of this center aims to serve Guangdong and radiate to the southern region of China, providing high-end electron microscopy technology support for scientific research.

Research direction: The research direction of the Electron Microscopy Center mainly focuses on the study of material microstructures, as well as material imaging with ultra-high spatial resolution and ultra-high energy resolution. Specific research areas include quantum material construction based on ferroelectric polarization, exploration of novel ferroelectric topological structures, and scanning/probe micro nano analysis.

Advanced equipment: The center is equipped with a series of high-end electron microscopes and related equipment, such as ThermoFisher Spectra 300 dual sphere aberration corrected transmission electron microscope, JEOL JEM-ARM300F2 aberration corrected transmission electron microscope, ThermoFisher Helios 5UX focused ion beam system, etc. These devices provide powerful experimental tools for researchers.

Scientific research team: The Electron Microscope Center has gathered a group of high-level scientific research talents, including double employed academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, experts of overseas high-level talent introduction plan, etc. Professors Zhang Hui and Han Yu are representative figures of the center, and their research results have been published in top international journals such as Science, making significant progress in fields such as low-dose imaging technology.

International Cooperation and Exchange: The Electron Microscopy Center actively participates in international cooperation and exchange, and has established cooperative relationships with multiple research institutions at home and abroad.
