The construction project of Yunnan University Electron Microscopy Center was approved by the President's Office in June 2020 and began to be implemented in the same month. The direct cost of hardware equipment procurement is over 85 million yuan, and the instrument equipment and supporting facilities cover an area of more than 2000 square meters. The center is equipped with a total of 6 microscopes of various types, including 2 aberration corrected transmission electron microscopes, which are the first advanced electron microscope platforms purchased by Yunnan Province. The spatial resolution of aberration corrected electron microscopy reaches 60 picometers, the time resolution is less than 1 millisecond, and the energy resolution is better than 25 millivolts, reaching the level of domestic priority and international first-class. The center is also equipped with various in-situ testing sample rods including temperature (low and high temperature), optoelectronics, thermoelectric, gas, liquid, etc., which can meet the increasingly urgent in-situ testing needs of disciplines such as materials, chemistry, life, physics, medicine, and ecology. At the same time, in order to meet the differentiated electron microscopy sample preparation needs of different disciplines, the center has purchased Leica's electron microscopy sample preparation equipment to achieve full testing of incoming samples and provide users with first-class testing services. The center adheres to the operational philosophy of "research, development, service, and openness", creating a high-level talent team that integrates testing services, high-end scientific research, and teaching assistance. It conducts scientific research and social services, produces high-end achievements, and supports the development of the field, becoming an important influence and competitiveness in the domestic market.
